Welcome!  We, the Brian & Gloria Burns family, are missionaries in Baguio City, Philippines.  We came here from McAllen, TX, sent out from Church of the King, McAllen.  Our primary ministry is helping run a children’s home.  We are partners with the Piet family.  They founded Safe Harbor International Philippines in 2007. We became active with S.H.I.P. in 2008.  Together we work to bring glory and worship to Jesus Christ by sharing His grace with orphaned, abandoned, and destitute children here in the Philippines.  In addition to providing for their basic needs, we seek to introduce the children to Jesus Christ as their loving Father.  We raise them “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4) 

We believe the Lord is leading us to develop S.H.I.P. into a multi-faceted ministry, one that goes above and beyond just a children’s home.  Our goal is to acquire land of our own (we currently rent a house) and build a small village of sorts complete with homes, a Christ-centered school, a church, a farm on which to teach life-skills and grown our own food, etc.  Our vision is a grand one, but we have confidence that if our vision is from the Lord, it will happen.  To learn more about S.H.I.P., click the logo on the left side of this page. 

Another ministry of ours is fostering children.  To date, we have fostered three children.  One has been adopted internationally and another has been reunited with his mother.  The third, Jomari (pictured on the far left of our family photo), will be staying with us.  Once we get all the requirements met, we will adopt him.  He is already a son to us.  We will be fostering other children in the future as well as adopting more as the Lord allows and opens up the opportunities for us.   Follow our family on Facebook (link to the left).
