Heart for Asia seeks to bring glory and worship to Jesus Christ by sharing His grace and love with the orphaned, abandoned, and destitute children of the Philippines.
Our goal is to bring up the children the Lord gives us "in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4)
In partnership with SHIP (Safe Harbor International Philippines), we provide for their physical, mental, and spiritual welfare by providing them a home, a Christian education, and by being Godly examples.
The Goal:
While SHIP has already laid the groundwork and is the home to several children, we seek to see it grow into a “village.” The vision the Lord has given us is of a facility capable of not just being a home for a large number of children but one that also has a Christian based school (an area I have been training in), a church, and a multi-function type building.
It is a big project but the Lord is able. Indeed he is already moving and doors are opening before us. It may take years to see this goal reached but we are confident that if the Lord is in it, it will happen in His timing. Keep up with the news in our news section to know the latest.
If the Lord has compelled to help be a part of reaching this goal, we welcome your support (Click the Donate button on the upper right). We always are in need of regular, monthly supporters.
If you want to provide a large, capital donation to help in the purchase of land or to sponsor one of the buildings, then I ask you please contact me so special arrangements can be made through Lighthouse Baptist Church. burns@heartforasia.org

Do you serve the Lord faithfully? Is your religion “pure and undefiled in the sight of God”? Are you making a difference in the lives of orphans and widows for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ?
“Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” James 1:27 NASB
And yes, there is a second part. We are more than just a social ministry. Personal piety is a must. Complete and pure religion embraces both parts of the above verse -- ministry to the orphans and widows along with keeping yourself pure. Being Christ centered is the key to it all.

A short background on why we are in the Philippines:
There are so many children throughout the world that are in need of care. The Lord has called Gloria and I (Brian) to serve Him by making a difference in the lives of Asian children.
Why Asia? Well... I guess the easiest answer is simply because the Lord has put the Asian people on our hearts. We can’t describe it, but we love them. It is why we adopted Caleb, our son from the Asian country due west from the Philippines. To avoid every being black listed we avoid mention of this country. It will show up on search engines, and that country does keep watch... Going to that country in the Fall of 2006 had a profound impact on our lives. We fell even deeper in love with the Asian people and their culture.
Caleb is a “special needs” child. Having him as our son and having to address the many challenges in his life has made us realize the impact that improper child care, neglect, and child abuse can have on a child. Caleb became part of our family not knowing a single word of his own language -- and he was 3 1/2 years old at the time. Most of his problems could have been avoided with proper care and love.
